Premium Glass-Lined Steel Tank for Industrial Deionized Water
description
Deionized water, or DI water for short, is pure water that has been purified by processes such as ion exchange, reverse osmosis, and electrodialysis to remove most of the anions and cations (calcium, magnesium, sodium, iron, chloride, sulfate, etc.) from the water.
Industrial deionized water has a standard resistivity ranging from 1 to 10 MΩ·cm. It is neutral and free of strong acids and bases, but tends to dissolve metal ions easily. For storing deionized water, ordinary carbon steel and epoxy-coated tanks will release metal ions and coating impurities into the water, directly ruining the water quality; enamel steel (GLS/GFS) tank has an inert and smooth inner wall, with almost no ion leaching, making it one of the best materials.

Material Characteristics of Glass-lined Steel Tanks
Glass-lined steel is a permanent, molecular bond created by fusing a specially formulated silica-based glass enamel to a base sheet of steel at very high temperatures (around 820°C / 1500°F) ,combines the advantages of both materials -- the strength and flexibility of steel and excellent anti-corrosion properties of glass.

Specification of Glass-Fused-to-Steel

Advantages of GLS Water Tanks for Industrial Deionized Water
• Material essential advantages
1.Zero ion precipitation ensures water quality. The GFS steel plate and glass enamel are fused at high temperatures, and the inner wall is chemically extremely inert. Addressing the characteristics of deionized water's strong extraction and easy dissolution of metal ions, the tank body is free of metal ions and coating impurities, maintaining a stable water resistivity (1~10 MΩ・cm) and preventing secondary water pollution.
2.Excellent corrosion resistance: The inner enamel layer is resistant to weak acids and weak corrosion, and can hold neutral industrial deionized water for a long time. Unlike ordinary carbon steel and conventional epoxy-coated tanks, it will not be corroded by water or age and peel off.
• Tank structure and surface characteristics
1.Smooth inner wall, not easy to get dirty. The dense and smooth porcelain surface does not easily adhere to impurities, scale and microorganisms, making it easy to clean and ensuring high water quality with long-term use.
2.Stable overall structure and long service life. The main body is made of carbon steel, which has high mechanical strength, resistance to deformation, pressure and shock. The enamel layer is integrated with the steel, which is wear-resistant and impact-resistant, and can be used for a long time in both outdoor and indoor conditions.

• Sealing and water storage compatibility
1.Strong sealing performance, slowing down water quality deterioration. It can be equipped with standard sealing covers, breather valves/nitrogen sealing devices to reduce the contact between water and air, reduce the problem of resistivity decrease caused by carbon dioxide incorporation, and extend the pure water storage period.
2.Flexible specifications and convenient installation: Modular assembly structure, volume can be customized as needed, simple disassembly, transportation and on-site installation, suitable for different sites such as factories and water treatment workshops.
• Operation and maintenance and overall costs
No need for frequent anti-corrosion refurbishment, resulting in lower maintenance costs; Compared to stainless steel tanks, it offers better cost-effectiveness and a more advantageous overall investment cost.
