Modular Glass-Fused-to-Steel Bolted Tanks for Municipal Wastewater Treatment
description
Structural Description of AO Modular Glass-Fused-to-Steel Bolted Tank:the outer tank serves as the O aerobic tank, with an independent smaller glass-fused-to-steel bolted tank nested inside as the A anoxic tank. Both the inner and outer tanks are bolt-assembled GFS tanks. The annular space between inner and outer tanks forms the O aerobic zone, while the inner cylinder constitutes the A anoxic zone. Wastewater flows into section A of the inner tank, passes through water-passage openings at the bottom or side wall into the outer O aerobic zone, followed by mixed-liquid recirculation.
Advantages of AO Modular Glass-Fused-to-Steel Bolted Tank
● Short flow path for mixed-liquid recirculation, reducing energy consumption for recirculation;
● Circular flow pattern minimizes dead zones and delivers favorable sludge suspension performance;
● Reduced workload for civil foundation construction, pipe fittings & valves, cables and anti-corrosion works;
● Short construction cycle with fully modular assembly;
● Water in the outer annular zone provides thermal insulation for the inner tank;
● Convenient inspection and maintenance.

Design Considerations for AO Modular GlassFusedtoSteel Bolted Tank
● The inner A (anoxic) tank shall withstand the lateral water pressure exerted by the outer O (aerobic) tank. It shall not be designed merely as an atmospheric-pressure storage tank; the thickness of enamel-coated steel panels must be verified according to external-pressure tank criteria;
● Sufficient annular operating width shall be reserved for the outer-tank diameter.
Material Characteristics of Glass-Fused-to-Steel Tanks
-Low Carbon, High Strength, High Titanium.
Glass-fused-to-steel tanks adopt a special high-strength enamelled steel as their steel substrate. This material possesses distinctive design features and excellent performance, whose mechanical parameters covering yield strength, tensile strength and elongation are much higher than those of standard steel sheets.
Features Of Glass Fused To Steel Tanks
● Rapid on-site assembly with a short construction schedule
● Outstanding anti-corrosion performance
● Low requirements for construction site conditions
● Superior resistance to temperature variations
● Broad application scope; capable of seamless combination to construct assembled reactors
● Attractive visual appearance
● Flexible for relocation, capacity expansion and material recycling
● Minimal maintenance demand with a service life of over 30 years
