High Corrosion Resistance Glass Fused to Steel Tank from China Suppliers and Factory for Durable Storage Solutions

The Glass Fused to Steel (GFS) tank is an innovative bolted storage solution meticulously crafted from high-quality glass and steel. Our tanks utilize premium TRS (titanium-rich steel) plates that are fused with a durable enamel at elevated temperatures, resulting in a highly inert inorganic glaze layer that ensures exceptional anti-corrosion performance. This makes GFS tanks the ideal choice for a variety of storage needs, As a leading supplier in China, we provide bolted steel tanks that feature a modular design, allowing for on-site assembly to meet the unique requirements of large or specialized locations. Compared to traditional concrete tanks, our GFS tanks offer a rapid installation process, significantly reducing construction time and labor costs. Partner with us for reliable and efficient storage solutions from a trusted factory!

    Description

Bolted steel tanks made of Glass-Fused-to-Steel are widely used for all kinds of storage solutions. Glass fused to steel is a permanent, molecular bond created by fusing a specially formulated silica-based glass enamel to a base sheet of steel at very high temperatures (around 820°C / 1500°F), combines the advantages of both materials — the strength and flexibility of steel and excellent anti-corrosion properties of glass.

LIDA's glass fused to steel (GFS) storage tanks are composed mainly of enamel panel, special sealant and self-locking bolts, etc. The steel plates are overlapped, bolted together and sealed with high performance seals. All the bolt heads are plastic-capped to provide protection against corrosion in the process environment. Mastic is extruded between the panels and the bolt heads seal the bolt shank to prevent contact with process fluids.

Uses of Glass Fused To Steel Tanks

Glass Fused To Steel Tanks are widely used in various industries and serve different purposes in different environments. These tanks are mainly used for:

    • Municipal drinking water, sewage treatment, sludge storage, wastewater treatment and anaerobic digestion and biogas.
    • Industrial wastewater treatment, storage, anaerobic digestion and biogas, process water storage and bulk solids storage.
    • Agricultural slurry storage, on- and off-farm biogas production, storage of livestock feeds such as hay, maize and high-moisture grains, and bulk solids storage.

Renowned for their extended service life and minimal maintenance requirements owing to corrosion resistance and UV stability, glass-fused tanks cater to municipal, industrial, and agricultural needs.

Their superior corrosion resistance, durability and ease of maintenance make them ideal for storing and handling a wide range of liquids, chemicals and gases. Additionally, these glass fused bolted steel tanks can be used for rainwater harvesting, firefighting and storage of various industrial liquids.

Glass Fused To Steel Bolted Tanks Manufacturing Process

Glass-Fused-To-Steel Tank adopts high strength glass fused special steel as the base material, and uses the honing technology at high temperature of 800 degrees Celsius to fuse the anti-corrosion glaze layer with high inertia onto the surface of the base material to make standardized steel plate module. It combines both strength and flexibility of steel and excellent corrosion resistance of glass as well as the perfect impact and abrasion resistance, and that withstands the extreme temperature and harsh weather conditions.

    Frequently Asked Questions
Q1 What is Glass-Fused-to-Steel (GFS) and how is it made?
Glass-Fused-to-Steel is a permanent, molecular bond created by fusing a specially formulated silica-based glass enamel to a base sheet of steel at very high temperatures — around 820°C (1500°F). The process uses honing technology to fuse an anti-corrosion glaze layer onto the steel surface, producing standardized steel plate modules that combine the strength of steel with the corrosion resistance of glass.
Q2 What industries use Glass Fused to Steel tanks?
GFS tanks are widely used across municipal, industrial, and agricultural sectors. Applications include municipal drinking water storage, sewage and wastewater treatment, sludge storage, biogas and anaerobic digestion, industrial process water, agricultural slurry storage, livestock feed storage, rainwater harvesting, and firefighting water reserves.
Q3 How long is the service life of a GFS bolted steel tank?
Glass-Fused-to-Steel tanks are designed for a service life in excess of 30 years. Their exceptional corrosion resistance, UV stability, and durable enamel coating significantly reduce maintenance requirements and extend the operational lifespan compared to conventional carbon steel or concrete tanks.
Q4 What are the main advantages of GFS tanks over carbon steel welded tanks or concrete tanks?
GFS tanks offer breakthrough innovations in materials, anti-corrosion technology, and installation methods. Key advantages include faster installation, lower construction environment requirements, excellent corrosion and UV resistance, strong temperature adaptability, aesthetic appearance, and flexibility for relocation, expansion, and recycling — all of which are limitations of traditional carbon steel welded or reinforced concrete tanks.
Q5 What makes the steel substrate in GFS tanks special?
The steel substrate used in GFS tanks is a special high-strength enamelled steel characterized by low carbon content, high strength, and high titanium composition. Its mechanical properties — including yield strength, tensile strength, and elongation — far exceed those of conventional steel sheets, providing superior structural performance for tank construction.
Q6 Can GFS tanks be relocated or expanded after installation?
Yes. One of the key advantages of bolted GFS tanks is their flexibility. The modular panel-and-bolt construction allows tanks to be disassembled and relocated to a new site, expanded in capacity, or recycled at the end of their use. This makes them a highly cost-effective and adaptable storage solution for long-term projects.
