Biogas Holder: Biogas Storage Solutions
description
Dual-mode biogas holders (also called dual-membrane flexible biogas storage holders) are flexible gas storage devices specifically designed for biogas projects. The core consists of an outer membrane, an inner membrane, and a bottom membrane (or foundation). They achieve flexible biogas storage by relying on membrane sealing and gas pressure difference. They are a key hub connecting the biogas fermentation system with the biogas utilization end (combustion, power generation, purification) and are the mainstream gas storage solution for small and medium-sized biogas projects.
The stored biogas can be used as a renewable energy source for various purposes, such as electricity generation, heating, domestic and industrial cooking. Biogas holders are commonly used in biogas plants, waste treatment facilities and agricultural farms where organic waste is processed to produce biogas. By storing biogas safely and efficiently, biogas holders play an important role in promoting the use of renewable energy sources and reducing greenhouse gas emissions in various industries

(Structure Drawing of biogas holder)
The biogas holder consists of a bottom membrane, an inner membrane, and an outer membrane, forming two spaces. The inner membrane space serves as a gas storage space, storing various gases, while the space between the outer and inner membranes acts as a pressure regulating space. When the stored gas increases, the inner membrane expands, and the control equipment expels the pressure regulating air from the outer membrane to free up a certain amount of capacity. When the gas stored in the inner membrane decreases, the control equipment injects air into the pressure regulating chamber to balance the pressure inside the holder and stabilize the rigidity of the outer membrane.
The dual-membrane biogas holder has a simple structure and is easy to operate and maintain. The membrane material is made of a corrosion-resistant special composite material, consisting of high-strength tensile fibers, an airtight anti-corrosion coating, and a surface coating, providing anti-corrosion, anti-aging, anti-microbial, and anti-ultraviolet functions. The shape of the biogas ground dual-membrane gas holder is usually a 3/4 sphere or hemisphere, fixed to the base by steel rails and bolts.

advantage
Low cost and fast installation:
No steel structure or concrete tank, prefabricated membrane body in the factory, assembled on site, construction period is 1/5 of that of steel cabinets for stairs, and initial cost is 30%-50% lower;
Dust control and maintenance:
The membrane body itself is resistant to biogas corrosion, with no rust or corrosion problems, and regular inspection of the membrane body and pressure control system at the bottom results in extremely low maintenance costs;
Small footprint and highly adaptable:
It can be made into round or square shapes, and can be installed outdoors, on rooftops, or even attached to fermentation tanks. It is suitable for small and medium-sized biogas projects (gas storage volume 50-10000m³).
High safety factor:
The flexible membrane has no risk of explosion, automatically vents air in case of overpressure, and the membrane is made of flame-retardant material to avoid static electricity accumulation;
Low operating energy consumption:
Air pressure is maintained only by a small fan, with a power of generally 0.5-2.2kW, resulting in extremely low energy consumption during 24-hour operation.
