Bolted Steel Water Storage Tank: Reliable Solution for Large-Scale of Water Storage
description
LIDA’s glass fused to steel (GFS) storage tanks are composed mainly of enamel panel, special sealant and self-locking bolts, etc. The steel panels are prefabricated and modularly manufactured in the factory, with on-site installation requiring no welding.

All the steel plates are overlapped, bolted together and sealed with high performance seals. All the bolt heads are plastic-capped to provide protection against corrosion in the process environment. Mastic is extruded between the panels and the bolt heads seal the bolt shank to prevent contact with process fluids.
For large-scale of GFS water storage tank, the aluminum trough deck (TD) roof with is the most economical and suitable choice.
Uses of Glass Fused To Steel Tanks
Glass Fused To Steel Tanks are widely used in various industries and serve different purposes in different environments. These tanks are mainly used for
● Municipal drinking water, sewage treatment, sludge storage, wastewater treatment and anaerobic digestion and biogas.
● Industrial wastewater treatment, storage, anaerobic digestion and biogas, process water storage and bulk solids storage.
● Agricultural slurry storage, on- and off-farm biogas production, storage of livestock feeds such as hay, maize and high-moisture grains, and bulk solids storage.
Material Characteristics of Glass-Fused-to-Steel Tanks
-Low Carbon, High Strength, High Titanium.
The steel substrate employed in the construction of glass-fused-to-steel tanks is a special high strength enamelled steel with a unique design and superior properties. Its mechanical properties, including yield strength, tensile strength, and elongation, far exceed those of conventional steel sheets.
Advantage Of Bolted Steel Tanks
● Easy to install
1. No on-site welding required. Factory-standardized prefabricated steel plate modules allow for on-site bolt assembly, eliminating the need for open flame welding. This ensures safe construction, prevents welding slag pollution, and is particularly suitable for flammable and explosive applications, especially in drinking water environments.
2. Short installation cycle. Modular assembly reduces the construction time by more than 50% compared to on-site welded tanks. It is unaffected by weather, simple to assemble, and can be carried out by ordinary workers.
3.Flexible installation. No large specialized equipment is required; installation can be carried out quickly in mountainous areas, remote construction sites, and confined spaces.
● Excellent corrosion resistance
The stainless steel/enamel coating is corrosion-resistant, acid and alkali-resistant, and resistant to sewage, chemicals, and drinking water media, with a service life of up to 30+ years.
● Rust-free and leak-proof
The sealing strip is specially designed for corrosion protection, providing overall seepage and leak prevention, preventing secondary water pollution, and suitable for drinking water, water purification, and sewage treatment.
● Disassembled and relocatable
No cutting or damage required; disassembled, relocated, and reused; no loss during project relocation or site changes.
● Fully expandable later
If increased volume is needed later, simply add height or layers; no need to replace the entire tank, resulting in extremely low modification costs.
