Acid- and sulfur-resistant anaerobic digestion for brew waste
description
Brewing waste (beer/alcohol) has extremely high organic matter concentration, is acidic wastewater, and has large fluctuations in suspended solids (SS).
The anaerobic digestion process as below:
Solid-liquid Separation→ Liquid:UASB/IC Anaerobic Digestion;Solid:CSTR Dry Digestion→ Biogas → Desulfurization → Gas holder
The key factor in selecting anaerobic digester tanks is corrosion resistance. The industry generally chooses 3 coat 3 fire GFS enamel bolted steel tanks .
Material Characteristics of Glass-Fused-to-Steel Tanks
-Low Carbon, High Strength, High Titanium.
The steel substrate employed in the construction of glass-fused-to-steel tanks is a special high strength enamelled steel with a unique design and superior properties. Its mechanical properties, including yield strength, tensile strength, and elongation, far exceed those of conventional steel sheets.

description
For the anaerobic digestion of brewing waste, the supporting tanks fall into three main categories: CSTR tank for spent grain solids, IC/UASB tank for wastewater, and auxiliary tanks.
Solid: CSTR Dry Digestion enamel tank
Structure of CSTR Anaerobic Tank: Vertical cylindrical GFS bolted tank, equipped with mechanical side-entry / top mixer inside, with external insulation layer on the tank wall (mesophilic 35°C / thermophilic 55°C), fully enclosed for biogas collection.

Liquid:UASB/IC Anaerobic Digestion enamel tank
Structure of IC Anaerobic Tank: Vertical tower-type reactor (height-to-diameter ratio 3:1–5:1), equipped with two-stage three-phase separator (lower and upper) and internal circulation riser pipes, featuring biogas-lift internal circulation, with a pressure rating of 0.1–0.3 bar.
Structure of UASB Anaerobic Tank: Vertical cylindrical tank, with water distribution at the bottom, sludge bed in the middle, and three-phase separator at the top; no internal circulation; height-to-diameter ratio 2:1–3:1.
